Fancy Day Talent Show

On May 21st PS41 will present the Fancy Day Talent Show! 2–4pm for grades K–2 and 5–7pm for grades 3-5. Tickets are $10 for general seating, and $25 for reserved seating at the front of the auditorium. Tickets will be on sale every day at drop-off or can be purchased from Michele Farinet in the main office. Hope to see you there!
Jog-a-thon for Japan

The Jog-a-thon for Japan will take place during the first 15 minutes of your child’s regularly scheduled gym class during the week of May 23rd.
The proceeds will support Tohuko Kids Support Project, a nonprofit organization in Japan that provides immediate relief and long-term support to orphanages affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. This event has been organized by a group of PS41 parents and PS41 Cares, our community outreach group.
The class that raises the most money will be treated to a sushi lunch!

Chess Elementary National Championship

Dallas, Texas May 6-9, 2011, The Chess Elementary National Championship.
Our 2nd graders (Noa, Henry, Sean and Santo) came in 12th in the K-3 under 800 section, out of 44 teams in the Country.
Our kindergarten and 1st graders (Elliot, George, Oliver, Robert, Trace, Louis, Daniel, Asher, Nicolas, Leo, Lisette and Ben), came in 4th, yes that’s 4th, in the K-1 section, out of 39 teams in the Country.
Our other team (Maxwell, Jacob and Gabriel) played well in the K-3 championship section.
In the individual standings, our highest placed students were, Daniel Levkov who placed 16th out of 294 players in the K-1 section, and Noa Morris placed 61st out of 274 players in the K-3 section.
Way to go PS41!!!!
